Do you know St. Louis?
Today, August 25th is the feast day of our patron saint, St. Louis. He became King of France in 1224 when he was very young and reigned for nearly fifty years. Even though St. Louis enjoyed the finer things in life, he fed the poor and provided homes for them. He spent several hours a day in prayer. He organized and led crusades to help protect the Holy Land. This is why we are named after him as the St. Louis Academy Crusaders. Here at St. Louis Parish, the mission is “Love God. Love Neighbor. Make Disciples.” In today’s gospel, we are reminded of the greatest commandments: Love God, and Love Neighbor. We pray for the intercession of St. Louis as we ask him to walk with us and lead us to obey the Lord’s greatest commandments at St. Louis Academy School and Parish.Printable Newsletter

Hello, Crusader families!
I am so thankful for all those who attended our annual Back to School Night yesterday. It is an informative night and one of the best opportunities for our staff and parent groups to communicate many important things about the upcoming year. If you were not able to come for your family, please reach out to our Home and School Chairperson, Nicole Voglewede, to get caught up to speed. Packets are in the school office for you to pick up if you were not in attendance. Also, be sure to ask your child's teacher about any important things you may have missed.
Please see the resources to the left along with the attached newsletters for additional information. Have a great weekend!
Please watch this video, HERE, to learn more about our the formative assessment program we use to gather data on each student three times a year. Also, attached is the parent information page that was given at Back 2 School Night.
Father Ben asked me to send you the link to the program FORMED. It is "a revolutionary online platform, providing access to the best Catholic audio talks, movies, e-books, and video-based studies from trusted providers like Augustine Institute, Ignatius Press, Catholic Answers, Sophia Institute Press, St. Paul Center, and more!" Through this, you can stream free Catholic videos for you or your children. The Parish Code to sign in is: K42MC4.
Gospel for the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Then he strictly ordered his disciples
to tell no one that he was the Christ.

Mass Throughout the Week
We attend daily mass Tuesday through Friday at 8 AM. Please join us if you are able. If you cannot attend mass with us please pray for us. Thank you!
IF YOU ARE COMING TO MASS IN THE AM:
Please park in the back of the school. I understand it is further to walk if you have little ones but the degree of safety is our reasoning behind this request. Please park and walk to the church from the school parking lot.
If you need to come into the building either in the morning or at pick-up time, either to walk your children in or out of school, or to speak to a teacher, please park in the BACK of the school when you enter. Parking in the front creates hazardous blind spots when vehicles exit school grounds. If you are bringing in or picking up a student during the school day and park in the front, please back into the parking spot.
Vehicles entering the parking lot at any time are to stay to the left (west side), and when exiting the parking lot please stay to the east side next to the marquis.
As a reminder, please communicate with your child’s teacher when important changes or events happen. Such events include but are not limited to medication information, health information, environmental changes, family emergencies or traumatic events, or classroom questions or concerns. Teachers work with your child all day and it is important to notify them of such things. Please be sure you have a copy of the Staff Contact information.
